Friday Fictioneers – Paradise

In Korea, today is known as Buddha’s Birthday. While I am not a follower of Buddha, I am thankful that the Koreans gives a national holiday off. Now if only they could give tomorrow off…but that’s asking too much. Here’s today’s fictioneers.

Paradise

Brock ran into the portico, looking around quickly.

The vacation was supposed to be a dream. Perth, Australia was to be a dream for Brock Adamson. A dual citizen of France and Canada, he was easily waved into the country on his tourist visa.

And after only a couple days, on the run due to his past. A past that had two men following him and nearly taking off one of his legs.

He ran inside the building, and looked at the receptionist.

“Oui?”

“Mademoiselle, I need safety. I’m being chased.”

“We know. We’ve been waiting.”

(Author’s Note: More stories on the way, I actually have a few that I am working on. I just need to get over my day-to-day tiredness from teaching kids.)

Vacation

by Miles H. Rost

The waves rolled in off the Yellow Sea onto the rocks of Anma Island.

“Hey, don’t go too far out, Em. You’re sunburnt and dehydrated,” Dee said, a quick warning. Mick and Tommy were already in the sea, playing around.

“I’ll be fine, Dee. I just need relief from this darn hot weather.”

The September heat had baked them as they trudged through the overgrown brush. Happily, about late afternoon, they found a flat pasture to camp.

Em sat at the bottom of the rock bank, dipping his feet in.

“This…is bliss…” He said, just before a large wave crashed upon his clothed form.

“…or at least it was.”

Friday Fictioneers – Willy!

Author’s Note: Welcome again. Things were busy this week, and I’ve been confined to my bed due to a nasty head cold that my unforgiving students gave to me. So, nothing new came out since last week. Hopefully, things will change this week.

Willy!

by Miles H. Rost

“I saw something like this in London.”

Margot Boyndon looked bored as her family zipped through the streets.

“Oh, really”, her brother asked.

“Yeah, it was in the center of this square. It looked like a willy.”

“Margot! Don’t use those words in the car!” Her mom screamed from the front, whipping her head around to glare at her only daughter.

“It’s true. It looks like some private part that’s been pointed in the air. Kinda like Dad’s.”

The car swerved slightly, her father trying to regain his concentration.

“Margot! How dare you!”

“C’mon, Mom. I walked in on you two dussying it up in the living room.”

The rest of the trip was quiet, as they made their way…in the car…to the Portugal/Spain border.

Friday Fictioneers – California Dreamin’

Author’s Note: My apologies for the lack of communication over the last week. March in Korea is the start of new classes and the week has been incredibly busy with new arrangements, new classes. 11 more weeks of this, and I will be finished with this part of life. Also, if you’re on Facebook, don’t forget to like my author’s page. I would love to be able to communicate and give some of the “behind the scenes” regarding some of my stories.

California Dreamin’

by Miles H. Rost

They were called the “Four Arms”. Brothers-in-arms who did everything together.

Even illicit drugs.

Propped up by a fence, they found the secret stash of ‘shrooms buried among harmless normal mushrooms. They sat back and looked at the sky as they took in the fumes and took out from their own minds.

“Whoa! Look at that cloud up there! It looks…like Cookie Monster!”

“It’s got so many COLORS, man.”

“Yeah, it’s just so wild. Blue never smelled so good.

“If this is what it’s like in California, I’m goin’.”

They all smiled as they took their psychedelic trip to California, little knowing just how much their “trip” would cost them…
