(Author’s note: Hi. You’ve probably noticed that I haven’t written for about a month now. Work got crazy, and my mind got really really tired. I needed to rest after all the work that I had to do. As such, my mind has become a bit stale. So, here’s an offering that may not necessarily be the best, but it’ll be good enough for jazz.)

These Dreams
by Miles H. Rost
4 weeks. Mindless data entry. Sleep…
But I need to write.
Walking walking walking. Oh, let’s see about this door…
*slam*
Oh. I guess not that idea. Let’s try this one.
*clink. clink clink clink clink*
You gotta be kidding me. Can I not even find an idea to work with. Let’s try this next one.
*open*
“I AM YOUR BED. I ORDER YOU TO SLEEP IN ME! UGHLALALAL—“
*slam*
Aw hell naw. Okay, last one. Let’s see…
*click*
“Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding…”
I don’t know what this is…but I think I have my next story!
Welcome back
Thanks! This is what happens when you work a job that taxes your brain! With interest!
Yes, I had noticed. Glad you got back in the groove 🙂
Work is a very weird maiden. Tempermental indeed.
I retired in Sept/ 2019. Someone asked me today if I miss my job. Nope. I still have plenty of opportunities for counseling, but at least now I can say, “No, I’m sorry, I’m not working any more.”
Welcome back! Fun story and great choice of songs. I have a feeling this person’s job may be in jeopardy whatever door they choose. 🙂
That person was me. And it ended up with me sleeping for 13 hours.
I don’t stay up on songs very well so there was probably much innuendo I missed. Keep FF coming.
No Innuendo. The song was “These Dreams”, and the writing was a dream that I had. Thanks for stopping by!
It does work that way sometimes, eh? 🙂 Here’s to what’s behind door number 54671
Likely a door to La Crosse, Wisconsin. XD Thanks for the stop-by!
🙂 my pleasure
These dreams – Will the hairstyles make a come back? Great music from the period.
Eventually. They always come back. XD
All I can say is, dreams are weird. Nice weird story! =)
Thanks!
Dreams tell us a lot when we listen. Most often, we know what inspired them right off. Keep those dings!
Sakura Miko keeps the dings. XD
As U2 sings, “some days are better than others.”
True true.
