(Author’s note: A lot of life stuff happened over the last couple weeks. I am hoping to have a Fictioneers next week as well, and maybe even a unique story-ette. However, here’s today’s fictioneers!)
Lady
by Miles H. Rost
When your mind is full, sometimes you just have to sit on a toilet, and El knew this well.
His creative process took him to many places, but sometimes, the bathroom was where he needed to be.
He thought about Brenda, his beautiful wife of four years. He thought about how he looked forward to her days. The ideas flowed onto the paper, as he sat on the throne.
He poured out all that he had been feeling since he married her, even when he was gone with his band. He wanted to be home, and this was his ticket.
Here’s the link to the seemingly tall tale of writing “Lady” on the commode.
What was he excreting from his full mind in the bathroom?
He was expelling a love song from one end, and the crap he received from everyone else from the other! XD
Two visits later he came up with Three Times a Lady! Nice story, interesting link.
My story!
That was 3 years earlier, and it took 3 times. XD
Great musician, I suspect he needed somewhere quiet to sit and think. How long was he in there?
Like most artists, “As long as it took”.
Bathrooms offer isolation (unless you’re a mommy) and lots of paper to write on.
I enjoyed learning this about Lionel Ritchie.
It was quite interesting to learn about it as well. It’s stories like this that make music history so fun!
Thanks for sharing this. Lady is still my favorite song and I like it by Kenny Rogers. Lionel was a great songwriter.
It’s a really good song, and one that I liked hearing in my grandma’s kitchen.
Funny story. I think sometimes celebrities get so tired of being interviewed they start throwing random sh*t out there (pun intended) to them and get a laugh when they see it in print.
It has happened before! That’s for sure!
Adorable love story with a touch of scatological humor thrown in. I like it. 🙂
A person can only deal with so much crap during the day. XD
