“This isn’t right.”
Phil Markowitz looked back, staring straight into the eyes of his best friend, Elena Katakova.
“What isn’t?”
“All of this. We’re trespassing, and we don’t even know where this door goes.”
“I do.”
“I thought you said you were never here before.”
“I did.”
“So then how…”
“I came from the other end of what lays behind the door.”
Elena scowled, as they moved the chain within the old lion pit at the zoo.
“Elena, get ready to have your socks knocked off.”
He opened the door, and immediately heard a roar. He shut the door.
“Weeeeeeeeeell… maybe not. RUN!”
Very Harry Potter
I never really thought about it that way. Which is hilarious, because I am actually a fan of the Harry Potter series (movies, at least.)
maybe just the way it struck me
I thought more Narnia, but it serves them right for opening the door to the old lion pit! Nice one.
I don’t think Phil was expecting that. Nice story.
Well, that didn’t go well…Loved it.
I saw Elena as a lioness having been transformed into a human form.
Curiosity… almost got done in by the cat!
Hehe, is it a lion, or maybe a dragon, or maybe a three-headed dog? Great fun.
Often roars are connected with fangs… better run.
I simply saw Taronga Park Zoo in Sydney. No magical worlds in this brain at the moment. I could see my kids doing something like this on a trip to the zoo.

I got a little lost. I’m not sure what was meant when he said he came from the other side if there was a lion or something behind the door. I did like your take on the prompt and thought it was well written.
Oh oh, perhaps not wise to open the door, it was locked for a reason. Nicely done
very dicey to open such doors, nice story
