Here’s the latest!
Now Where Could It Be?
“Agatha? Did you look over in 14B?”
“Yes, I did look over in 14B. I looked in 11-15 for it.”
“How about 47?”
“You think I’m going to go to 47 on a whim?”
“Hey, if it weren’t for you going on about how great this place was, I wouldn’t have had this happen!”
“It’s not my fault you can’t even follow simple directions.”
“Doing archeology in salt flats isΒ not my idea of a good day, and I can follow directions.”
“Then why didn’t you follow them when you put your contacts in?”
“Because I…wait…I FOUND MY CONTACT!”
“Charlie, next time, put them in right…or else I’ll slap them out permanently.”
“GAAAAH! SALT IN MY EYE!!!!”
There’s some intense saline solution for you. π That last line made me laugh, if only because I can picture you saying it.
Fun. What about wearing goggles on the dig?
Thanks for the smile, Miles. And as David said, saline solution indeed!

Oh my..that has to be painful.
I have contacts. Put them in once the day AFTER I cut jalapenos (which means my hands had been washed multiple times.) Still, the hot oil left by the peppers burned the h#$l out of my eyes. So – I can relate so very much to this story. Well done.
Funny π
This was pretty amusing! I thought she looked like she was looking for something lost as well, and for awhile I toyed with the idea of her looking for her car keys. But the whole part of it being in a gridded archaeology dig is just rich, and I loved that ending “GAAAAH!” π
Dear Miles,
As a contact wearer, this hurts to even think about ouch and LOL.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Dear Miles,
Spectacles are in order there. Great vignette.
Aloha,
Doug
I stick with glasses these days – that is too close to the truth!
Good fun and well told
Lol..bumbling people. Quite humorous π
Ouch that would sting! Great story though.
funny piece. Would have been funnier if I could have found my contacts. Randy
Burns my eyes just thinking about it! I really enjoyed the sharp dialogue, that tells an entire story. Nicely done.
Miles, Hilarious, but not for your MC. π He needs glasses with an elastic strap attached. I’ve never worn contacts. I’ve never wanted the bother. Well written. π —Susan
