(Author’s note: January was a very busy month. Exceptionally busy. Things are really picking up steam. Therefore, here’s today’s fictioneers!)

Beginnings

“Su-Yeon Noona*!”

Paul slowed himself down as he approached the bench. Su-Yeon, raven hair and all, turned his way.

“Paul? What’s going on?”
“I just saw you pass by, and wanted to talk quickly!”
“What’s going on?”

He sat down, catching his breath. The British expat needed to exercise more.

“Valentine’s day is coming up. And I’d like to take you out for a date.”

Su-Yeon’s eyes got wide, then narrowed as she grinned.

“So you want me to leave my title of noona, soona?”

Paul blinked.

Gears turned.

He laughed.

Blush appeared.

“Oh stop it, you!”

Su-Yeon just chuckled.

* – “Noona” is Korean to denote a woman who is older than a man, but is familiar to them (regardless of biology). Commonly used among younger college-aged males for the upperclass college-aged women.

Oh come on, you know you wanna join.

Friday Fictioneers – Puttin’ On The Ritz

(Author’s Note: Well, things are about to get busy with me regarding my eventual move back to the United States. Currently whittling down the cities that I may move to, and hoping that I’ll be able to find something upon my return. Otherwise, here’s today’s fictioneers…with a little extra spice.)

Puttin’ On The Ritz

by Miles H. Rost

“Excuse me, can you tell me how to get to the Ritz?”

“Down two blocks, left one block, on your left.”

The brown-skinned man in the top hat gave him a bow and smiled in thanks.

“Say…haven’t I seen you somewhere before?”

He smiled at the question, thinking.

“Oh, maybe.”

“What’s your name?”

“I am Taco,” he replied, a slight bit of Dutch coming out of his throat.

“I asked your name, not what you ate.”

He laughed, and gave him a salute.

“Look on MTV tonight. You’ll see.”

He turned, smiled, and whistled an Irving Berlin tune.

Punk Rock

by Miles Rost

Three guys, drunk as sin, walking home from a punk concert and pub crawl. All three passed by a window.

“Oi! Wot ya take an eye at that!”

“Wow! It’s got spikes an’ everything!”

“Yeah! That’s definitely punk!”

All three roared out in laughter, as they kept walking past.

After a few moments, the pile of rocks started to lift up from where it was. Underneath it popped out a head.

“Oooh! I really like this style! I think this hat will go great with my rhino-stone dress,” the head said, standing up straight. Under the hat was a very stylish socialite, opening her very expensive purse.

“The hat rocks, ma’am,” the store owner said, as he chuckled while collecting the money.
