(Author’s Note: I have one or two things that need to be addressed this weekend, but I am planning to work on some new longer works coming up soon. Otherwise, here’s today’s fictioneers…if you dare read…)
“Eric, you better come home this instant!”
“But, honey! I just got a promotion, and the boys are celebrating.”
“Not tonight you aren’t. You may have been promoted, but you’re still my husband. Get back here now!”
“If you don’t come home, I’m putting on the red shoes.”
“Yes, Eric honey?”
“You don’t have to put on the red shoes. Or the red dress tonight. I’ll be home shortly.”
Roxanne sat back, chuckled as she looked at the box with the magic butt-kicking shoes inside.
“Best five dollars I ever paid.”
No offense to Kate Bush, but I was really expecting The Police 😉
Maybe he should buy his own red shoes 🙂
One must wonder what kind of conditioning rendered such result. Wow.
Hah, butt kicking red shoes are nice to have. I was also expecting the Police, not Kate Bush, especially since Roxanne now is stuck in my head. 🙂
Now he needs a pair of ruby slippers so that he’s only a “there’s no place like home” away from being back there, then when she’s asleep, he can say “there’s no place like the bar.” 🙂
Fun story – must get myself a pair of those shoes … 🙂
I was expecting The Police too!
This was great fun!
Roxanne. Red dress. Ha!
Oh My … someone has a short chain. Perhaps, an S & M evening is in his future.
I’m still mulling this one over.
I was also expecting the Police. Now, where to find a pair of those shoes…
I loved that song when it came out. Presumably she has history and he’s rescued her from that life?
