(Author’s note: I remember this prompt! I did this a long time ago! But, the good thing is…we always can have something different! Here ya go!)

Dave and Michelle walked out of the recent reshowing of Grease!, celebrating it’s 35th year.
“Seriously, Michelle, cars aren’t made like that anymore,” Dave said, putting on his jacket.
“Neither are the people.”
“Yeah, but what if we could have fun like that here in this modern world?”
Michelle brushed her frizzy black hair from her eyes.
“It would be…hissstorical…”
Dave shot her a look, and grinned.
They looked at each other.
“Why it could be our next PROM THEME!”
Dave put his arm around Michelle, walking back toward his 1970 Dodge Charger.
“Time to tell the prom committee…”
Me think’s its time they grew up, and moved on. Then again I’d love a 1970 Dodge Charger.🙂
They’re kids. They can’t grow up yet! XD
Hah A great way to get the idea for the prom. And you can never get enough of Grease Lightning, or any Grease song for that matter.
Ooooh yes indeedy. It was because of her that I watched Xanadu as well.
Noooo…. John…. *.*…. 😉
Oh, and thanks for NOT putting the edited version of the song 😉
That was a lovely story, Miles. His own car is pretty friggen vintage in today’s world…
As I recall, the 1950s were very popular in the 1970s, spawning the TV show “Happy Days” among others. I’ve never actually seen “Grease” and admittedly, have no desire to do so. However, vintage automobiles makes us sometimes long for the past.
Never grow up! I always say that. Good story.
Nice work! There’s nothing like a blast from the past to inspire a prom.
I caught the ’50’s in their heyday of the ’70’s. Nice trip down memory lane.
Oh, I remember the days of “Grease lightning.” Great take on the prompt.
Wonderful! I love the “It would be…hissstorical…”! The last line is ironical, to say the least!
I wanted to see the new generation take an old idea and run with it. There’s a lot that indicates in the story, but hidden to see if people pick up on it. ^_-
Nice. I am always glad when the young realize the value of the old👌👍
…I hope it happened and it was a great success! We got few things right back then!

A great trip back in time. Hope the committee approves.
A walk down memory lane … Nicely done
