Behind The Waterfall
by Miles H. Rost
The hike from the campsite to the water source was long.
The reward was clear, crisp, running water.
Sally looked around and smiled. She spied a little path going behind the waterfall. A curious teenager, she had to investigate it.
Reaching the back of the waterfall, she looked out at the beautiful blue-tinted waters pouring over the lip of the cave. The sight of the western sun shining through the water gave her heart peace.
Taking out a small bag, she untwisted the tie, and poured the contents out.
“Be at rest, Dad. You always said you loved the water.”

A beautiful, serene take on the prompt. Well done.
I had a hard time figuring things out with this one, but then I just went with what was natural: falling water.
Sometimes these prompts are a challange but bring out beautiful things for us don’t they.
That is simply beautiful! What a wonderful place to put Dad.
Some dad’s like being part of running water. Some just want to become a tomato plant. XD
What a beautiful, respectful memorial. I think that would be a great way to have my remains laid to rest one day. ❤
I choose to be scattered on the sands of the Pacific, when my day comes.
A very special place for her father to rest. Nice piece!
She planned it out, for certain.
So peaceful. What a wonderful way for her to say good-bye.
Nature is always a good way to do it.
Wow, this is such a lovely story!🌷
A difficult one to work with, as well.
What a beautiful story!
Thank you! I love writing stuff like this. Helps bring up the spirit.
I was expecting all possible creepy things to happen, and then the girl did such a thoughtful thing! Great story.
